From our Friends at Montclair SEPAC:
“Hello SEPAC Community,
So many of us enjoy the Montclair Film Festival, and we wanted to make sure that you are aware that SEPAC is a proud co-sponsor of two “sensory friendly films.” Brief descriptions of the films appear below, and the attached flier gives more details. They both look great, hope to see you there!
INTO THE WHO KNOWS!
Ten-year-old Thomas (Bryce Gheisar) has an imaginary best friend named Felix the Fox (Delaney Wingrove). But Thomas’ parents want him to make “real friends,” so they send him to summer camp. So he and Felix make a midnight escape into the forest of the Who Knows, to pursue a mythical being called the Totem. Micah Barber’s film is a rare gem, a film that takes the rich, imaginative life of children seriously and turns it into a wonderful story of adventure and friendship.

What would you do if your community gave up on your child? In New Jersey, the parents of one autistic boy take matters into their own hands, forming a competitive swim team by recruiting a diverse group of autistic teens from around the state to train and compete as a team and challenging them every step of the way with high expectations and zero pity. Lara Stolman’s lm chronicles the extraordinary rise of the Jersey Hammer-heads, showcasing their incredible accomplishments and their powerful quest for inclusion, independence, and a life fueled by the irreplaceable feeling of winning.
